  • How to decide my design?

You will be consulting with a lash artist and decide design the most suitable for you. Here are

5 main things to decide your design.

Natural to glamorous, we will custom design to enhance your beauty 120%!

    broken image

    1. CURL

    You can pick from

    J curl(most subtle curl),

    C curl(most popular), or

    D curl(most curly)

    2. LENGTH

Some people want very long lashes, but I recommend the length to balance with your eyes and facial feature.

    broken image

    3. THICKNESS

You can pick the thickness from

    0.1 (very natural)

    0.15(one coat of mascara look)

    or 0.2(double coated mascara)

    broken image

    4. QUANTITY

Quantity of lashes decides whether natural or glamorous. I would say 120 lashes set is something between natural and glamorous for the most people.

    5. Design

The illustrations on the left are the basic design for lash extensions. After the consultation, considering your preference, condition of your natural lashes, and the balance to your eyes and feature, we will alter the design just for you.

  • Lash Extensions Do's and Don'ts

    Do:

    • Try not to touch them much, particularly during the first few hours. The more you touch them, the more oils from your fingers get on them, the more strain on the lash root etc.
    • Keep them as dry as possible for at least 24-36 hours. This means, it’s ideal if don’t wash your hair during this time. However, if you need to, use only lukewarm water, and keep water off your eyes. This also includes avoiding steamy environments, very hot showers, spas, saunas etc. for 24 hours as a minimum. If it’s a very hot and humid day, try to stay out of the heat. All of this will allow the adhesive to cure as strongly as possible.
    • After the 24 hour mark, they are technically waterproof, however, if you are swimming or sitting in a hot spa daily, they probably won’t last quite as long as if you didn’t, more from rubbing them when water gets in your eyes.
    • If you have a very oily face, try to control this as much as possible with blotting papers, mattifying lotions etc. and by using oil-control moisturizer.
    • Make sure you are using oil-free products on your face, particularly eye makeup removers and cleansers. We can recommend products.
    • Clean them properly, at least a few times a week with a foaming lash cleanser. Baby shampoo (not the conditioning type) in very small amounts is ok too.
    • Let us know before your infill if you think you will need more time because you have lost more lashes than expected, or want to upgrade to a thicker set/more lashes.

Let us know if you have any concerns or questions – we’re always happy to help!

    Don’t:

    • Don’t play with or pick at your lashes, rub your eyes roughly. If you are a picker, it can really damage your natural lashes
    • Don’t use oily products on your eyes or face
    • Don’t use waterproof or oil based mascara or eyeliner (felt tip/pen-style liquid liner is usually fine, or we stock a range of suitable makeup items)
    • Don’t use any mascara if you can help it
    • Don’t use baby wipes/makeup wipes/cotton pads to wipe makeup off them
    • Don’t try to remove them yourself – as it may damage your natural lashes. We can remove them for you if you wish
    • Don’t use cleansing oils, coconut oil etc. on your face if you want the lashes to last
    • Don’t put strip lashes on top of them unless you are prepared to lose a few of your own lashes when you try to take them off.
    • Don’t try to light a cigarette on your toaster or stove-top (good life advice generally – but will also stop your lashes getting singed and frazzled on the ends!)

    What is normal

    • Immediately after the lash application, some individuals with sensitivities can experience minor redness and dry eye. We try to minimize this where possible, so we will ask if you are sensitive beforehand. In most cases, this disappears within an hour or so and there’s no need to worry. Of course, call us if you are concerned.
    • It’s normal lose a couple of lashes every day (1-5). Don’t be alarmed if you notice them from time to time (as they are much larger than your natural lashes). The extension falls out attached to the natural lash when it is ready to come out, and a new baby lash takes its place. Some days you won’t lose any, other days you might lose 3 or 4. It’s completely normal and does not mean your eyelashes are all going to fall out!
    • Some lash growth cycles are faster than others. You may find every few months, your lashes shed faster than other times. It usually means that you have a lot of new growth, and when you come in we will see a lot more lashes we can lash! Other times they might still look great at 4 or 5 weeks, as they have not shed much.
    • No two sets of lashes are identical. We customize the styling, sizes, weights and curls to every individuals eye shape, natural lash condition and tastes. Each style looks different depending on how own eye shape. So please be aware that your lashes will not look identical to your friends, even if you request the same thing.
    • Expect between 2 – 4 weeks before you need an infill. On average, our clients come back every 3 weeks. Sets consisting of more lashes (glam and volume) will usually last longer than those will less (full, lite). Shorter lashes usually last longer too.

    What’s not normal

    • If you experience intense itching and or red/swollen eyelids in the first few days after the application. This could be an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, these are largely unavoidable – but luckily they are rare, and can be treated. Please contact us if you are worried.
    • Excessive shedding of extensions off the natural lashes in the first few days. This is uncommon – but please contact us if you feel they are shedding rapidly within the first 3 days of application so we can troubleshoot and/or assess your lashes.
    • If (after wearing extensions for a while) you find your eyes sometimes feel gritty and sandy – this can mean that you really need to clean your lashes more frequently/properly. Your technician can assess your lash line and give advice on the best way to clean your lashes.

    Infills

If you wish to maintain your lashes, usually between 2-4 weeks, you will require infills. Timing depends on factors such as:

    • Generally, the more lashes we apply, the longer they last (more to lose)
    • How you treat them
    • Your lash cycle and how fast you are shedding/growing lashes
    • Your skin type (oilier complexions usually shed lashes faster)

We will infill up to 4 weeks, as long as at least 1/3 of the lashes have been retained well. Please let us know in advance if you think you will need more time than usual or want to add any additional services (i.e. lower lashes, hybrid set)

  • FAQ

    broken image

    Q. How are eyelash extensions applied?

My eyelash extensions are applied individually, one by one, 1.5mm away from the eyelid, never directly on the skin, to your natural eyelashes using a medical-grade formaldehyde-free adhesive. Lash extensions come in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls, results can vary from very subtle and natural to very noticeable and dramatic.

    broken image

How long do lash extensions stay on and when do I have to get them retouched?

Much of how long they last depends on how you care for them at home. This includes eye-make-up choices, cleansers, exposure, etc. That stated, an individual eyelash hair’s life cycle is approximately 144-166 days before it sheds. Normally we loose 3-5 lashes per day. Understanding our bodies are constantly regenerating and growing; each extension is placed on an individual natural eyelash hair to allow for this process to continue, without feeling pain or irritation.

Each eyelash extension lasts for the natural life of the eyelash cycle. This varies greatly depending on your beauty products, daily routine, age, and genes. Most clients return after 2-3 weeks because they love a consistent, full lash line.

If you were to have a set of lashes placed on tomorrow and didn’t return for a touch-up appointment, our adhesive would last approximately 5-7 weeks. (This is NOT advisable).

1-2 weeks after your touch-up appointment: You will see shedding of the outer lashes first. Depending on which side you sleep on, you will experience more shedding on the side you favor. You may also loose lashes towards the corner of your eye nearest to the bridge of your nose. There may be 3-5 individual hairs which have experienced a growth spurt and appear ¼” away from the lash line.

2-3 weeks after your touch-up appointment: More shedding on the outer and inner corners and thinning in the middle of the lash line where more lashes have shed. As your natural lashes grow out of the follicle, they naturally twist and turn. This is a very natural occurrence, but could cause your extension to appear catawampus. There may be an increased number of lashes, which had a growth spurt.

2-4 weeks after your touch-up appointment: Same as above, with larger “chunks” of lashes shedding from the middle and more lashes having grown out.

After 5 weeks, you probably will need to return for a full set.

    Q. What kind of material do you use?

I import high quality lash extensions and glue from Japan which have passed very strict regulation for safety of my clients.

I use synthetic mink and sable lashes that are super light and comfortable to wear.

I also newly started using Lash Extensions called "Super Flat Lashes that is the newest and most innovative lashes yet! The new shape Super Flat lashes allows the adhesive to cover a larger surface area which significantly improves retentions.

Those are perfect for people with fine, short lashes or have no good retention with the regular lashes.

    Q. What is "Japanese Style" Lash Extensions and why?

I call my style " Japanese Style", because I was trained in Japan. Also, I follow Japanese eyelash trend and get myself trained and keep my skill updated in Japan at least every once a year. I prefer more natural, tasteful, high quality and believable lashes that blend in your face even with no make up than Hollywood style that is extravagant , super densed lashes( and I understand many people prefer those style, too). I do do partial volume lashes(Hybrid lashes) that is suitable for customers who like more volume but still natural, but I do not perform full volume or Mega lashes not only because of my preference but also I believe this style is easier to maintain, keep lashes clean, and less stress to your precious natural lashes. My goal is to make you beautiful and keep your lashes healthy.

  • Client Testimonials

"Absolutely loved my eyelash extension experience with Mio!

Mio was very sweet and quick to reply back to my text to see if she can give me a lash fill. My first experience elsewhere was a disaster and I was explaining to her how the lady was really harsh when applying the lashes on me. Mio seriously had the lightest hands I did not even feel her applying the lashes to my eyes.

She is one of the affordable places to get your lashes done. I am indeed in love with mines and will definitely be coming back to see her. " - Jhoren C  ★★★★★

"I would give Mio 10 stars if I could! I intially came to see Mio because I was going to a friends wedding and wanted to try it out. She made my lashes a little shorter because I don't naturally have long lashes (plus they're blonde) and I wanted them to look full but natural. What's great is that when I wake up in the morning, all I have to do is throw on some lip balm and moisturizer and I'm out the door.
Mio is really easy to schedule with too and there is always parking. Ive referred my friends to her and anyone who wants long lasting natural lash extensions." - Kelly T  ★★★★★

"I loved lash extension that I got in Japan, but I was a little skeptical about getting it done here in Hawaii because of my past experience.. my lashes were stuck together, heavy and uncomfortable. But I gave it another try with Mio who I heard was trained in Japan. And the result was amazing... Not only they look gorgeous and natural but also I was surprised how light they are compared to the ones I got at the other place. She says she uses Japanese glue and that makes me feel more comfortable too. I'm glad I found her!" - Hitomi O  ★★★★★
